Final Thoughts
...and just like that, the party ended
DescriptionLooking back it was one wild ride. No trip ever taken prior to the France trip of 2019 will ever compare except save maybe our honeymoon, another memorable trip. The only incidents which marrred the trip were the fall in Nice due to the uneven floor in the hotel room which left a scar, and the "missing" day's worth of media which I am unable to recover. Fortunately Marlene did take photos, but they won't have "my eye". In the end tho, these incidents will eventually be overshadowed by the more pleasant memories of the trip. With that said, I have but one comment to close out the trip. When returning home from France I was a bit offended by the welcome I received when waiting to go through customs....something that I have never experienced in my life. Perhaps I'm just asking for too much, but would it have been hard to add one word to that "welcome" sign. I'd like to think my country is happy to welcome its citizens BACK and not just a simple welcome. BTW, it took all of two hours from the time I stood in line till I passed customs.....not a pleasant experience. Maybe if (and yes this gets political) customs receives additional funding to add a few more agents to the line (at the time I was there, there were only four), the snaked line would not be a snaked line. |
