Sarlat (5/30 - 6/1)

About

Sarlat-la-Canéda is a medieval town in southwest France's Dordogne department. Its central Sainte-Marie Church, redesigned by architect Jean Nouvel, hosts an indoor food market, and a glass elevator in the bell tower offers city views. Sarlat Market sells local delicacies like foie gras and cheese. To the south, close to the Cathédrale Saint-Sacerdos de Sarlat, stands the bullet-shaped Lanterne des Morts tower.

My Thoughts

The stay at Sarlat did not require the three days we were there.  Seemed like the "shopping day", even tho it was touted as a must see experience, could  have been seen after the trips out of town.  Highlights included a wedding that took place at the local church, the on stage entertainment, the Michelin Star restaurant meal and yes, the open market.

Lodging

The hotel was fine except the AC leaked.  Breakfast was served in their adjacent, independent coffee facility.  The main part of town was about three blocks from the hotel.  Full one day laundry service was offered.  Required a special pass code to enter the hotel "after hours".
