Boulangerie Jeannot

A quick meal consurmed while riding on the train from Nice to Paris was purchased by Marlene.  She bought herself baked goods and brought back a bagette sandwich for me.  A most satisfying meal for that six hour ride.

Café du Trocadéro

An encore meal at the Cafe du Trocadero beause it was the closest and we wanted something familar.....escargot.  Again we got two orders, allowing me to take a pic I forgot the last time.  This time the snails were a tad larger.  The women once again ordered the Thai salad.  Michael ordered a tuna salad and  I ordered the special skate wing cuz I never had one before.  I cleaned the plate down to the bones of the skate.

Café des Marronniers

The thought of eating at a restaurant that was situated in the middle of a park never appealed to me.  Always thought what kind of food could they possibly serve in the middle of nowhere.  This was definitely not the case after walking what seemed to be miles.  I was simply hungry and the group was OK about trying out the park restaurant.

The fare was simple cafe food that was priced a tad more expensive than most.  While the party simply had a simple salad or pasta, I decided to give a burger a go.....not just a burger. biu what was listed as their "Cantal Burger" Steak haché de bœuf, Cantal, poitrine fumée, tomate, compotée d’oignons, mesclun, pommes frites Cantal (Cheeseburger, beef burger, Cantal cheese, smoked pork belly, tomato, onion compote, mixed salad, French fries).  It would be the only burger consumed in France, but it was the best burger consumed in a very long time.  A shame it wasn't washed down with a milkshake tho.

Felt Kinda uncouth tho.  A guy at the table next to us finished off his burger with a knife and fork.  .

Fables de la Fontaine

The encore experience here was totally different from the first.  We got to the restaurnt a tad early and had to walk around the block till opening.  Unofortunately the meal selection for all in the party was the same as our last visit.  Once again I would be the one ordering something completly different.

As before we started with the chilled cucumber soup with biscuits.  Can't remember what the appetizer was.  I ordered "the beef" while the rest of the party ordered a mixed seafood dish served in a stone bowl....same as what was ordered last time.  I ordered the rice pudding souffle again, but this time the staff got it right and supplied me with the container of caramel.  Fully satisfied......once again a great meal.

G20 Supermarché

While our group decided on a gourmet meal at the food court in the basement of the Champs Elysees's Galleries Lafyette, I decided to take a pass.  None of the food was to my liking.  I had to go without for a while until we passed the G20.  Bought a simple sandwich and a vegetable juice.  Nothing fancy, cheap and something I could simply eat out on the bench along Rue de Rivioli.  I later washed it down with a very unmemorable Starbucks fruity tea fruther down the street..

Paris is the capital of France.

Le Malakoff

Three times the charm applied to the ordering of escargot.  Presentation here was without the shells at Le Melkoff.  Consumed a lot of bread soaking up the buttery goodness.  Naturally Marlene had to end the trip with that iconic France trip meal of Nicoise salad....but for me it would be a mixed grill, featuring a real fatty piece of steak, but a very tender, melt in your mouth fatty piece of steak.  It was accompanied by the wing quarter of chicken and a sausage.  And being that this would be the final meal in France, we topped it off with ice cream....a scoop of pistachio for Marlene and strawberry for me..
